There's two main reasons for the existence of MichianaPokerTour.com...

FIRST:

In our experience with "home games", we find the #1 concern/question is, "Is this game legit?" By "legit" we mean, is it SAFE? And is it FAIR?  

You can never tell just by a free listing on a random website. So we've developed a way to minimize the risk* and to help you find a legit card game! 

The result is MichianaPokerTour.com. It's a forum-based system where people can post games and established members can "certify" those games... and then this "system" evolved into an actual TOUR...

SECOND:

The Tour.

The weekly Tour portion of the Michiana Poker Tour (info on the tour) was created so that you can go to a game that has been scheduled for weeks or months in advance. You will know the structures, know the rules, know the payouts, and feel comfortable with this information. 

It is important to note that NO MPT Events (or Home Games listed on this website) take a "rake" or any extra not-paid-out fees in order to play.

Too many home games have weird "house rules"... all MPT events follow Roberts Rules of Poker, and we have instituted a few of the Tournament Directors Association rules as well. We also have our own set of by-laws that insure that you will always know what you are getting into by coming to an MPT Event! All of these rules, as well as the Tour schedule are posted in our Forums!

The Tour has become so popular that most events have at least 30 to 40 players, some have as many as 50 players! Most of us know each other by name, and have become friends... but we ALWAYS welcome NEW PLAYERS with hospitality and excitement. You will feel right at home at our games!

THIRD:

We believe that information currently on the web promoting home games in Michiana is incomplete and difficult to find. At best, there's a 1-sentence description and an email address. Listings are out-of-date, and most email inquiries go unanswered.

MichianaPokerTour.com is the one-stop-shop for finding a home game in Michiana for any day of the week! On any given week, you can find as many as 3 to 10 games to play in! It is a clearinghouse for COMPLETE and UP TO DATE information.

All game postings post the pertinent information, and most of our members, for the sake of simplicity, have instituted the MPT Structures and Rules in their own home games. 

It is a MichianaPokerTour.com policy to NOT allow promotion of games with a "rake". The only exception would be licensed fund raisers, and even then you know ahead of time what you are getting into!
